A Canadian music historian, Aaron Lusch, found an album I recorded as a teen in Halifax, Nova Scotia and posted this track on You Tube - my very first attempt at songwriting. When I taught writing poetry, I would ask students to interact with the world, to simply look outside their windows and write about what they saw. There was an old man living on our street in Downsview. If I recall, he was living with one of his children, but it seemed to me that he walked up and down the road endlessly, come rain or shine.
